Turn the pages of a PDF into SVG files, one file per page. Pick the pages and the quality, then download one SVG or a ZIP of all of them. Nothing is uploaded. Turn each page of a PDF into an SVG file. The SVG holds a picture of the page, so it looks the same everywhere, but the text and shapes inside are not editable vectors.

How to turn a PDF into SVG files

Drop your PDF, choose the pages, the quality and the picture type, and press Make SVG files. Download one file, or all of them as a ZIP.

Important: the SVG contains a picture of the page, not editable vector shapes and letters. Use it when a program asks for an SVG file but you only need the page to look right.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting to edit the text or shapes in a vector program: they are pixels inside the SVG.
  • Choosing a very high quality for a big page: the file becomes very large. Try 150 DPI.
  • Opening a password-protected PDF: remove the password first.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are drawn and wrapped into SVG files inside your browser, and the files are saved to your device.
Is the SVG real vector art I can edit?
No, and this page does not pretend otherwise. Each SVG holds a picture of the page, so the text and shapes are made of pixels. It opens anywhere SVG opens and scales as a picture, but you cannot edit the letters or recolour a shape. To get the words, use PDF to Text.
Which quality should I choose?
150 DPI is good for screens. 300 DPI is sharper for printing but makes bigger files. A bigger number means a larger SVG file.
Why PNG or JPG inside?
PNG keeps text and lines sharp and is the better choice for most pages. JPG makes smaller files for pages that are mostly photos.
Are the shapes and text in the SVG editable?
No. Each SVG contains a picture of the page. For editable vector shapes, use a desktop vector program on the original PDF.
