HTML to PDF

Convert HTML and CSS code or files into downloadable PDF documents in your browser. Render responsive pages to PDF with zero uploads. Free and private.

Your HTML

Stays in your browser
Honest limit: Selectable text ignores CSS and outside pictures. Page picture keeps the look but the text is not selectable, and outside pictures and fonts are not loaded.

Shortcuts: Ctrl+Enter run · Ctrl+Shift+C copy result · / search (use ⌘ on Mac)

Free Online HTML to PDF

Make a PDF from HTML. Paste it or open an .html file, choose text you can select or a picture of the page, and download. Nothing is uploaded and no scripts run. Paste HTML or open an .html file and save it as a PDF, with real selectable text or as a picture of the page. Scripts in your HTML are never run.

How to turn HTML into a PDF

Paste your HTML into the box, or use the upload button to open an .html file. Choose the page size and press Create PDF.

Which mode should I use?

Use Selectable text for articles, reports and documents: the PDF is small and its text can be searched. Use Page picture when the page depends on its CSS layout, colours or fonts.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting CSS to apply in Selectable text mode: it only reads the structure. Use Page picture for styled pages.
  • Linking pictures and style sheets from the web: nothing is loaded from outside. Write pictures into the HTML as data: addresses.

Frequently asked questions

Is my HTML uploaded or run?
No. The HTML is only read inside your browser. Scripts, forms and outside addresses are ignored, and the PDF is saved to your device.
What is the difference between the two modes?
"Selectable text" reads the headings, paragraphs, lists, tables and code of your page and writes them as real PDF text you can search and copy. Your CSS is not applied. "Page picture" draws the page as your browser shows it, with its CSS, and saves pictures of it; the text cannot be selected.
Why are my pictures missing?
Only pictures written into the HTML as data: addresses can be used, because the tool does not load anything from the web. Everything else is left out and the tool tells you how many.
Why do some letters show as "?"
Selectable text uses the PDF standard fonts, which cover English and most European languages. Other scripts are replaced with a question mark. Page picture mode draws any script your browser can show.
Are scripts in my HTML run?
No. The page is drawn in a locked sandbox where scripts are switched off, so only the content and style are used.
