Scan to PDF

Turn photos and camera captures into clean, scanned PDF documents in your browser. Auto-contrast, corner crop, and combine pages with zero uploads.

Your pictures stay in your browser.

Honest limit: pages photographed at an angle are not straightened and shadows are not removed. You can turn and crop pictures and clean up the contrast.

Free Online Scan to PDF

Scan paper with your phone camera or turn photos of it into one tidy PDF. Turn and crop the pictures, make the writing clearer, and download. Nothing leaves your device. Take photos of paper pages with your phone camera, or pick pictures. The tool improves the contrast, lets you turn the pages and makes one PDF.

How to scan a document

Press Take a photo (or drop photos in the box) for each page, in order. Choose how to clean them up, and press Create PDF. Use the arrows to change the page order and Turn to rotate a page.

Tips for a good scan

Lay the page flat in good light, photograph it from straight above, and choose "Better contrast" for colour pages or "Black and white" for plain text. "Find the page automatically" cuts away the table around a light sheet of paper.

Common mistakes

  • Photographing at an angle or in shadow: the tool cannot straighten pages or remove shadows. Take the photo from straight above.
  • Using Black and white for photos or stamps: they turn into black blobs. Use Better contrast for those.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?
No. The photos are cleaned and put into the PDF inside your browser, and the PDF is saved to your device.
How do I use the camera?
On a phone or tablet, press Take a photo and your camera opens. On a computer the button opens the file picker, and some browsers offer the webcam there. You can add several photos, one after the other.
What do the clean-up choices do?
Better contrast makes the paper whiter and the ink darker. Grey removes colour. Black and white makes every dot either ink or paper, which gives the smallest, sharpest text for plain documents but loses photos and stamps.
Can it straighten a page photographed at an angle?
No. You can cut away the table around the page (by hand or with Find the page automatically) and turn pictures, but the page is not stretched back into a rectangle. Take the photo from straight above for the best result.
Is my camera picture uploaded?
No. The photo is handled in your browser and the PDF is saved to your device.
