Free Online QR Code Scanner

Drop a picture of a QR code, paste a screenshot or use your camera, and see exactly what is inside before you act on it. Links are checked for common tricks and never opened for you. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused qr code scanner task before moving the result into a project.

How to read a QR code

Drop or choose a picture, press Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot, or start the camera and hold the code in front of it. The content appears on the right with a plain explanation.

Staying safe

Check the address before opening a link, and the payee name and amount before paying a UPI code. Be careful with codes stuck over other codes on posters and parking meters.

Common mistakes

  • Opening a link from a code you did not expect: scammers print QR codes that lead to fake login and payment pages.
  • Scanning a picture that is cropped at the edge: the code needs a plain margin on every side.

Frequently asked questions

Does it open the link for me?
No. Links are shown with warnings about look-alike domains, shorteners and unencrypted addresses, and you decide whether to open them.
Is the image uploaded?
No. The picture and the camera stay on your device; the code is read in your browser.
Why can it not read my QR code?
The picture may be too small, blurry or cropped. Use a sharper image with the whole code and a margin around it, or try the camera closer to the code.
Why check a UPI QR code here?
You can see the payee name, UPI ID and amount before you pay, and spot a code that was stuck over the real one.
How do I use this qr code scanner tool?
Use the interactive controls above; processing stays in your browser and the result is intended as a practical starting point for development work.
