Free Date Add / Subtract

Start from a date, say how many days, weeks, months, years or working days to add or take away, and get the new date with its weekday. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused date add / subtract task before moving the result into a project.

How to use Date Add / Subtract

Choose Add or Subtract, enter the number and pick the unit. For working days, weekends are skipped and holidays too if you turn that on.

Common mistakes

  • Adding 30 days when you mean one month: months have different lengths.
  • Forgetting that a holiday can fall on a weekend and is then already skipped.

Frequently asked questions

What is January 31 plus one month?
There is no February 31, so the result is the last day of February (28, or 29 in a leap year). The page tells you when this happens.
How do working days work?
The calculator counts forward or back one day at a time and only counts days that are not weekend days and not holidays.
How far can I go?
Up to 10,000 years or 3,652,500 days, within the years 1 to 9999.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to a server.
How do I use this date add / subtract tool?
Use the interactive controls above; processing stays in your browser and the result is intended as a practical starting point for development work.
