Free Online YAML to Properties
Turn an application.yml file into application.properties. Nested keys are joined with dots and list items use the [0] form Spring Boot expects. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused yaml to properties task before moving the result into a project.
How to use YAML to Properties
Paste your data into the box on the left, or open a file, then press Convert. Paste your YAML. Several YAML documents are written one after another, separated by #--- lines.
Common mistakes
- Keys with dots inside them: they cannot be told apart from nested keys once written.
- Expecting types: .properties has only text, so true and 8080 are written as plain words.
Frequently asked questions
How are lists written?
As allowed.origins[0]=…, allowed.origins[1]=… which is the form Spring Boot binds to a list.
Should I escape non-English characters?
Spring Boot reads application.properties as UTF-8, so it is not needed. Turn it on for tools that still read files as ISO-8859-1.
What happens to YAML comments?
They are dropped; comments are not part of the data.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and nothing you paste or open is sent to a server.
How do I use this yaml to properties tool?
Use the interactive controls above; processing stays in your browser and the result is intended as a practical starting point for development work.
