Free Morse Code Translator with Audio
Type text to see it as dots and dashes, or paste Morse code to read it. Then play it as sound or light, or save it as a sound file. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused morse code translator task before moving the result into a project.
How to use the Morse code translator
Choose a direction and type. Use dots (.) and dashes (-), a space between letters and a slash between words. Press Play sound to hear it, or Download WAV.
Common mistakes
- Using no space between letters: Morse needs a gap to tell letters apart.
- Typing characters Morse has no code for (such as @ in some lists or accented letters): they are skipped and listed.
Frequently asked questions
How are letters and words separated?
A space separates letters. Words are separated by a slash (/) or by three spaces. You can choose which one to write.
What is WPM and Farnsworth timing?
WPM is the speed measured with the word PARIS. Farnsworth timing keeps each letter fast but adds extra space between letters and words, which is easier to learn from.
What are prosigns?
Special signals sent as one run, such as <AR> (end of message) and <SK> (end of contact). Type them in angle brackets.
Is the sound uploaded?
No. The sound is made in your browser.
How do I use this morse code translator tool?
Use the interactive controls above; processing stays in your browser and the result is intended as a practical starting point for development work.
