Free Online JSON Editor: Text, Tree and Table
Edit JSON the way that suits the job: type in the text, change values in a tree, or work on a list of objects as a table. Undo, sort and repair are one click away. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused json editor task before moving the result into a project.
How to edit JSON online
Paste or open your JSON and choose a view. Text is the raw document, Tree edits keys and values one at a time, and Table turns a list of objects into a grid you can sort and edit cell by cell. Every change goes into the undo history (100 steps).
Tools
- Format and Minify change the layout only.
- Sort keys orders every object's keys alphabetically; Sort array by field orders a list by one field, as numbers or as text.
- Repair fixes common mistakes such as trailing commas and single quotes.
- Remove nulls drops every null value.
- Validate against a schema checks the document with a JSON Schema you paste.
Common mistakes
- Table view needs a list of objects. A single object or a list of numbers opens in Tree view instead.
- Changing a value's type can lose data (an object becoming text). You are asked to confirm.
- Sorting as numbers and as text give different orders for values like 9, 10 and 100: pick the one you mean.
