    Free Online Image Color Extractor

Open a picture and get its main colours as hex codes. Click the picture to pick any single colour, then copy the palette as CSS, Tailwind or JSON. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused image color extractor task before moving the result into a project.

How to get colours from a picture

Drop a picture in the box. The palette appears at once. Change the number of colours to get a simpler or a richer palette, and click the picture to pick one exact colour.

    Common mistakes

    • Expecting the exact brand colour from a photo: lighting changes colours, so click the area you want and compare.
    • Using a heavily compressed picture: JPEG noise adds colours that are not in the original design.

    Frequently asked questions

    How are the colours found?
The picture is shrunk in your browser and pixels with similar colours are grouped (k-means). Each group becomes one colour in the palette, with the share of the picture it covers.
How many colours can I get?
From 5 to 12. Fewer colours give a simple palette; more colours pick up small details. Pictures with few colours (a logo, a flat drawing) may give fewer than you asked for.
Can I pick one exact colour?
Yes. Click anywhere on the picture and the colour under the pointer is shown with its hex code and a Copy button.
    Is my picture uploaded?
No. It is read and analysed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
How do I use this image color extractor tool?
Use the interactive controls above; processing stays in your browser and the result is intended as a practical starting point for development work.
