Free Online Hex Dump
See every byte of a file or some text, 16 to a row, with its position and its characters, like the xxd command. You can also turn a hex dump back into a file. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused hex dump task before moving the result into a project.
How to use Hex Dump
Open a file or type text and press Dump. To go back, choose "Hex to file", paste the dump or plain hex and download the bytes.
Common mistakes
- Pasting a hex dump into "Dump": choose "Hex to file" to read it back.
- Odd numbers of hex digits: every byte needs two digits, and the page names the line that is wrong.
Frequently asked questions
What is in each row?
The position of the first byte in hex, the bytes in hex, and the same bytes as characters on the right. Bytes that are not printable show as a dot.
How is this different from the Byte Parser?
This page shows raw bytes. The Byte Parser reads values such as numbers and text out of bytes. They link to each other.
Can I turn a dump back into a file?
Yes. Choose "Hex to file". The offsets and the character column are ignored, so you can paste a dump from xxd or a debugger.
Is my file uploaded?
