Free Online EXIF Viewer and Metadata Remover

Photos carry hidden details: your phone model, the time and often where you were. See what a photo reveals, then remove it before you post or send it. It gives developers a quick browser-based way to solve a focused exif viewer & remover task before moving the result into a project.

How to see what a photo shares

Drop one or more photos. Each is listed with what it holds. A warning shows when a photo has GPS location data.

How to remove it

Press Remove metadata and download the clean copies, or all of them as a zip. Turn on Remove GPS only to keep the other details.

Common mistakes

  • Posting a photo taken at home: the GPS data can reveal your address even when the picture looks harmless.
  • Taking a screenshot to get rid of it and losing quality: removing the data directly keeps the picture exactly as it is.

Frequently asked questions

What is EXIF data?
Details your camera or phone writes into a photo: the device, the date and time, the settings and often the exact GPS location where it was taken. Many sites keep it when you upload.
Does removing it change the picture?
No. The pixels are not touched and the picture is not re-saved, so there is no quality loss. Only the hidden data blocks are removed.
What does "Remove GPS only" do?
It blanks the location and keeps the other details, such as the camera and date. Use it when you want to keep the date but not share where you were.
Why can it not open my iPhone photo?
iPhones save HEIC by default, which browsers cannot read. Share the photo as JPEG (Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible) or export a JPEG, then use it here.
How do I use this exif viewer & remover tool?
Use the interactive controls above; processing stays in your browser and the result is intended as a practical starting point for development work.
